Soul Intent held it's inaugural night in June 2004 and has just (December 2009) completed a year in residence at the The Aston Hotel (Sheffield). We have no regular (monthly/bi-monthly) events planned for 2010, something will happen, I'm just not sure what, or where & when.

Soul Intent is a collective, there are four resident DJs, regularly contributing DJs & the ladies on the door (Sue, Joanne & Yvonne). The original intention was to provide an outlet in South Yorkshire for the music that we love, the fact that we played this music to friends was & is a massive bonus and that circle of friends is ever-increasing.

We have tried to avoid all the usual bollocks & politics that comes with promoting an event on the soul scene, we have tried  to assist other promoters in the advertising of their events and we have never set ourselves up to be anything other than a bunch of middle aged men playing records for our own enjoyment, the fact that so many other people like what we do is amazing.

We have all come from the Northern scene and we all have our roots in that strange world, but we have moved on. One of the strengths of Soul Intent is that between us we have collections that cover all the bases for a 'modern' night. A regularly received comment is that we offer a diversity of music that others don't and people now expect the unexpected at ours.

We always try & run three or four 'So Soulful Seventies' nights yearly and these have always proved successful, mainly because we've had DJs of the calibre of: John Benson, The Pincher Twins, Kev Briscoe & Sean Hampsey in attendance. All dates will be advertised on here & venues will be 'flyered'.
