'Soul Intent' is now a bi-monthly Modern Soul night, held at:

The hotel is just minutes from the M1 at junction 33 and offers excellent
accommodation and quality food & drink at Bar & Brasserie 59.

All 2009 dates will be on Saturdays and next year's events, all fall on the third Saturday of the month.

The night will run from 8.00pm until 01:30am and the cover charge on the door is £5.00. The first 25 entrants receive a FREE promotional CD.

The 'Listings' page has future dates for 'Soul Intent' and other Modern Soul nights, (promoters please send e-flyers for inclusion) and nights are regularly reviewed (feel free to make a contribution).
The 'Archives' page does what it says on the tin; it archives all the playlists from all the previous DJs and all the earlier event reviews.

We've sort of adopted the following phrase as our by-line:

A Melodious Thunk ... Dancefloor Jazz @ Red Bar Wakefield
Last saturday of every month 2009 ... free entry 8pm - 1am
all-era ... all-flava jazz for the dance-floor.
